I write to you, at a time of finally being free from illness, having most recently suffered a bad bout of Sinusitis.
I now want to record again, I'm in good voice, But I am now at the time where our house move is so imminent, that I have packed away and boxed up "The Studio".
Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, so the start of Lent. I jokingly 'Give up' Lent, for Lent, as I find most of the music depressing and dull. I do try during this time to explore different organ variations on registrations and try to fit in. I think my standard "full organ" is a pile of 8ft Flutes, maybe an Open Diapason on the Swell, a few 4ft flutes, every single mutation stop, or anything that doesn't have a whole number, and a 16ft Reed to give it some oomph! It sounds weird, it feels weird, but it fits in!
This year, or certainly for the first half of Lent, I am literally giving up Lent, as I have taken a back seat from all Music work whilst we move. In fact, I have taken a back seat from the bar work too, so I seem to have time on my hands. I am reflecting on how busy I have been, and how much I just manage through it! I think we all take for granted free time, but then when we 'get' free time, we are either too burnt out, or get too bored, that the free time wasn't worth it after all.
In more musical news, I have recently written another small edition to my morning setting portfolio, "The Banquet" it is a post communion song, and you'll be able to catch a glimpse of this on my Facebook page. I had a go at recording this, but vocally I wasn't up to it, so this will have to wait until I get set up in my new studio.
This is the banquet of our God.
The heavenly banquet of our God.
Bread for His Body, and, Wine for His blood.
This great meal’s the banquet of our God.
Now, we’ve shared in his body,
And, we’ve shared in his blood;
We thank our Lord for the meal,
That reminds us all of the great things he has done.
This is the banquet of our God.
The heavenly banquet of our God.
Bread for His Body, and, Wine for His blood.
This great meal’s the banquet of our God.
