Heavenly Father, we Thank you This Harvest festival for all the foods. All the Farms, and Farmers, and all the agricultural machinery that clogs up our roads on a Sunday Morning, and make us late for church.
This Sunday, being the same Sunday as Greenbelt Festival, my phone was "hot" with calls to deputise.
I spent this morning at St Barnabas and St Andrew's Wellingborough, we had a good set of hymns including Praise My Soul The King of Heaven, and Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord got a go too. At the close, I played Charpentier: Te Deum (Prelude) a piece that I haven't played for years!!
We celebrate Harvest Festival at Orlingbury on the first Sunday in October, with Cafe Church. We will be singing a Traditional hymn, (it is hugely important that although we encourage the next generations, we recognise the old ways too.) We will also be singing Harvest Samba written by Mark and Helen Johnson, and AP'd by dear friend Andy. (It is just important to share the traditions of a young person in the lives and worship of others!)
In my last posting, I suggested that I wouldn't be posting as much now.
This will still continue to be the case! But it just so happened that all contents came together on this occasion, and the day-to-day worship brought a theme that I could talk directly about, and hopefully encourage you all going forward.
I probably will only post occasionally now, but this works better for me.

Nunc gratias agimus omnes Deo nostro,
corde et manibus et vocibus,
qui mirabilia fecit,
in quo hic mundus gaudet;
qui ex ulnis matrum nostrarum
nos in via nostra benedixit
innumeris donis amoris,
et adhuc hodie noster est.
Now thank we all our God,
with heart and hands and voices,
who wondrous things has done,
in whom this world rejoices;
who from our mothers' arms
has blessed us on our way
with countless gifts of love,
and still is ours today.
