Accept the praise I bring…

Jesus my shepherd, Brother, Friend

My prophet, Priest, and King

My Lord, My Life, My Way, My end

Accept the praise I bring.

Often, my blog posts are targeting the good times, whether past, present or future.

Lately, it has been good and special friends moving on to bigger and better things!

But this time sadly, it’s not.

I write this in the aftermath of “The episode” that Coronation Street fans were all dreading!

throughout “Paul’s Story” I’ve nothing but thought of one of my former English teachers, who taught me whilst her colleague was on Maternity leave.

She was one of the better english teachers that the school had. She went from the school expecting her Daughter Veryan. But sadly never came back!

It was the sad news of her ill-health became the diagnosis of MND.

I often think of Mrs Moss. I’ve followed her blog since the day I found out of her circumstances.

There’s a lot of times I could relate to what she’s said, as Wheelchairs, hoists, and Millbrook Healthcare has been part of most of my life. I’ve only ever known my mum to be in a wheelchair.

I have to admit, that before Corrie did this MND story, I didn’t know enough about it, and probably only related it to my experiences with mum and MS.

But yes, I shed a few tears at the close of this episode, mostly thinking about Mrs Moss and now knowing what the future will hold. I remember the beautiful mid 30’s woman who had the fantastic skill of being able to stand infront of a class full of despondent, Uneducables, and encourage us, inspire us, and give us hope. I’m sure I was probably a minority who didn’t get a GCSE in English! (Mathematics and Music were my forte!)

Now, It’s time to give back! The hopes and encouragement for her fight ahead!! I will be dropping her a message with encouragement.

When I left school, I joined a choir, in a village where nobody knew me. And as time went on I got to meet the greatest of people!! My acquaintance to the village hits 9 years, and I soon reach a year working there in my second stint!

Saturday, we lost our Legend! The Village’s greatest.

I sat next to him since the day I joined the choir! And he sang so well! It’s really hard to put into words, the right words, about a man that gave so much, did so much, and touched the hearts of all!

Tears shed once again!!

It was earlier in the week that we heard of the passing of another Legend. Mr Blogg. Another of my former teachers. Who was so well known because of his dedication. In fact, Parents evenings for family’s of Weston-ers, would greet their teacher, and their parents teacher!! Ken was one of my teachers and going back 40 years or so, taught mum!

Legend!!

May he rest in peace too!

Sunday 8th saw me head off to St Peter’s Isham at 9:30. And then as a special treat. I travelled on to Morcott, for Songs of Praise with Sue and Vince.

A fabulous service. Opened by Sue, defining “Praise” as a retired teacher, Praise is a word used in opposition to Criticism.

And today, those words mean more than ever!

The service continued with the joys of singing, Laughter at the moment that Sue and Vince realised that they wasn’t quite singing from the same hymn sheet! More singing, and worshiping, and praising without criticism! Just praising!

I have nothing but Praise, for all people mentioned in my writing today.

The teacher that dedicated decades of his life to the Students of Weston Favell School.

The Most incredible English Teacher, who’s fight and determination is admirable. She defies the odds every single day, facing MND for 6 years, hasn’t walked in over 4 years. It’s now for us to cheer you on to 7 years and beyond!

Dearest Vic, a dear friend, a perfect human. You’re no longer ill, no longer in pain or discomfort, you’re at peace!!

Till then I would thy love proclaim

With every fleeting breath.

And may the music of thy name

Refresh the soul in death.

In memory of Mr Blogg and Vic Cope (RIP)
