This Sunday, The final day of April, saw me arrive at St. Peter's with only seconds to spare, as roads heading to Weston Favell were not my friend this morning!
I sang Dominus Regit Me, Psalm 23 (by Howard Goodall.) There's a Wideness in God's Mercy (Cross of Jesus) Northampton's How sweet the name of Jesus Sounds, and closing with I will Sing the Wondrous Story, to Hyfrydol. (unfortunately not the harmony that Rowland Pritchard wrote)
Then it was time for a Sunday Roast with the fabulous 'Rambling Rachel' who, in a year or so, will become Revd. Rambling Rachel. What an amazing friend, amazing company and a great catch up! Oh and yes the food was good too. The Bold Dragoon in the Village seems to have it's mojo back!
Swiftly following that, I joined in with the fun and games of a slightly earlier than usual 4pm service, today, at 3pm FUN AND GAMES. This was wonderful with many young minds coming in to play and have fun!! - I was rubbish at Table football and probably scored more goals in MY net, as in the net I SHOULD score in! - I should stick to playing the Organ! Maybe next time, I should be drawn against RR, who would do much better than me!! Now, That would be a tie!!!
Then it was time to put the glad-rags on! The Bishop was coming!!! Greater Northampton Deanery Confirmations! We filled the Quire with fine voices, and sang Greater Love by John Ireland. The Lord Bless You And Keep You, and among some fine hymns, Bridges' All My Hope on God is Founded, with David Lee's descant echoing at the close!
Now it's time to rest up, for another week of work work work!
Until next time....
